I first saw this clematis at Netherby Hall, when I taught a class there in the walled garden this summer. What an amazing plant! I was really captivated by the structure. The petals are so architectural, they have so much corporeality that they give the impression of an opened-out capsule, which in essence they are… I also love the dusty pink textured surface, so much to love in this inflorescence! I liked it so much that I have bought a plant for my garden, watch this space…
